Debbie Thoy has been working on this project for the past 10 years. It began in 1998 when her parents retired from Western Australia to a rainforest property called Boomajaril in Tasmania. It was then she discovered Tasmanian Devils in the wild when they started coming up on the properties verandah. Since then the Tasmanian Devil has become a major part of her families daily life and a major passion for Debbie.

There's a 'Devil on the Verandah' became a catch phrase in the Thoy household and was the obvious name for the project. In 2007 Debbie recruited Jordan McLaren, a talented actor and presenter, as co-host. Both Debbie and Jordan are animal lovers and dedicated to saving the Tasmanian Devil from Extinction.

The aim of "Devils on the Verandah" team is to bust the myths associated with the Tasmanian Devil and show you the sensitive, mischievious and playful side of this rare creature. The team will visit schools and events throughout Australia educating the public and gaining support for this amazing creature. This website will have up-to-date information and great mini documentaries to watch. The Devil is now an endangered species and we need help and support from everyone - all over the world.
