Debbie Thoy is the producer, writer and director of the documentary "Devils on the Verandah". She is also the daughter of the property owners of Boomajaril where wild Tasmanian Devils interact with the residents. An experience she is blessed to be a part of.

Debbie started her own production company Wizard Corporation Productions in 2005. The driving force in this decision was to produce a documentary about the Devils she had come to adore. An animal lover, it breaks her heart to think that the Tasmanian Devil could be extinct in possibly 25 years. This documentary and program is a very personal project, so important that it be presented right, she is supplying most of the funding herself.

She grew up and lives in Perth, Western Australia. She has been involved in some form of entertainment all her life, whether it be dancing, sport promotion, acting or making films. Tasmania has been her second home for the past 16 years.

Basketball was a big part of her life during the boom years of the sport in the late 80's, early 90's. Debbie promoted State Basketball League teams and also assisted the Perth Wildcats. Marketing and promotion came naturally, however the world of filmmaking and storytelling has become her driving force.
